New England Highway John Renshaw Drive offramp exit westbound will be 1 lane only.

All over sixe over mass (OSOM) vehicles intending to travel through the site are required to call ahead on 0423 323 946 (or 0455 465 321) at least 30 minutes before reaching the site.

When approaching the work site, they are requested to stop in the designated holding bay until such time the site can be made safe to travel through.

Once stopped, call the site on UHF Channel 45 or call 0423 323 946 (or 0455 465 321) to confirm arrangements for travelling through the work area.

OSOM vehicles greater than the restricted width should expect short delays during this work.

EMERGENCY WORK DUE TO WEATHER - Urgent drainage and road pavement repairs will be carried out on 8, 9 & 12 May between 8pm & 5am on Maitland Road between the Newcastle Inner City Bypass and Shamrock Street and between Old Maitland Road and Hexham Bowling Club. Shoulder and closures: on outbound lanes towards Maitland between Newcastle Inner City Bypass and Shamrock Street and on inbound lanes towards Newcastle Hexham Station and Old Maitland Road, Hexham.

From Sunday 5 May, night works will also be undertaken on Maitland Road between Hexham Train Station and the Oak Factory at Hexham. Contra-flow arrangements will be in place and may add an additional 15 minutes to travel time. This work will continue over four weeks, weather permitting. A temporary speed of 60km/h will remain in place through the project work zone during ongoing day work, and a reduction to 40km/h during night works.
