The Anderson Drive eastbound off ramp on the highway will be closed from 7pm on Monday 9 September until 5am on Tuesday 10 September, weather permitting.

During this time, a detour will be in place via New England Highway/Maitland Road and is suitable for all vehicles.

Motorists are advised to allow approximately 5 minutes of additional travel time.

NRL + NRLW Double Header at McDonald Jones Stadium. NRL Knights v Dolphins kick-off at 4:05pm, NRLW Knights v Broncos kick-off at 6:10pm and full time around 8pm.

Traffic may be heavier than normal on Turton Rd, Griffiths Rd, Newcastle Rd, Lambton Rd and Bridges Rd through Broadmeadow as fans travel to and from the stadium.

Motorists should allow extra travel time and be aware of increased pedestrian activity on local roads.

Changed traffic conditions for night works will be in place from Sunday 1 September to Thursday 5 September.

Works include;

• On Monday 2 and Tuesday 3 September there will be a temporary closure of the steel bridge over the Hunter River between 8.30pm and 4am. A contraflow will be in place and there will be no right turn for motorists travelling to Sydney/Maitland from the Pacific Highway. Motorists and Freight operators are advised to use the temporary ‘U turn’ on Maitland Road 350m from the intersection.
• Contraflow on Maitland Road near Ironbark Creek bridge on Wednesday 4 September and Thursday 5 September.

Over Size Over Mass operators and/or vehicles operating under permit with a ground contact wider than 3.2m and/or overall width greater than 4.5m are advised to contact the project team at least one day ahead of movement on 1800 515 141. Significant delays will occur if no contact is made. Please note vehicles travelling under a Permit must not travel off the approved route listed in the permit unless an updated permit is obtained from the NHVR.

A temporary speed of 60km/h will remain in place through the project work zone during ongoing day work, and a reduction to 40km/h during night work.
