A-League Men: Newcastle Jets v Western Sydney Wanderers at McDonald Jones Stadium. Kick-off at 5pm, full-time approx 7pm.

Traffic may be heavier than usual on Turton Rd, Griffiths Rd, Newcastle Rd, Lambton Rd and Bridges Rd through Broadmeadow as fans travel to and from the stadium.

Motorists should allow extra travel time and be aware of increased pedestrian activity on local roads.

Hunter Street will be closed from 7:00am to 10:00am for the march.

In addition, other local roads will be closed for services and commemorations including:

4:00am to 6:00am

• Nobbys Road between Wharf Road and Parnell Place
• Wharf Road between Watt Street and Nobbys Road

08:00am to 12:00pm

• King Street between Wolfe Street and Auckland Street and between Darby Street and Auckland Street.

Motorists are advised to take extra care with an expected increase in pedestrian activity.

Motorists are advised to expect delays and lane closures on Griffiths Road at the entrance to the Newcastle Entertainment Centre and Showground as patrons travel to and from the event. Traffic controllers will be on site to direct motorists.

John Street, between Longworth Avenue and Lumsden Lane will also be closed both directions for the duration.
